About Me
For the last 12 years I have been the Practice Manager to a number of Architects practices in the UK. In essence, I help people think strategically.

I am practice manager at Barefoot & GIlles Architects. We specialize in delivering good buildings to business minded clients in a no-nonsen... Pretty simple really.

I have hands on experience running a business and in growing businesses. Client liaison is a key part of my work, and I am confident explaining design to lay people. I have a wide knowledge of systems and help businesses improve efficiency and focus on their objectives.

Prior to my business live I trained in architecture and became an academic and design teacher. I ran a team of 10 at the University of Liverpool and am experienced managing people in an educational setting. I enjoy teaching, and identifying what people can contribute.

I joined Twitter in September 08 after some years networking online, then set up my own blog, 'Just Practising' and the Architects Twitter League in January 2009.

That is a fair comment, Paul on the " big picture " since the main SaaS offering is not ready to go yet so it's relationship to that is not available at this time. However Site Clean Up is not just a marketing tool - it is also a small useful app fo…

I would echo much of what Su says, but - for now - I would like to focus on Peter Daly's presentation (partly because I've had email contact with him since Be2campEast2). To me, I thought Peter didn't really explain what the "bigger picture" of his…

Be2camp East – the power of collaboration is here

Whilst listening to Paul Wilkinson recount the history of Be2Camp we were reminded on Thursday once again of how important the two complimentary aspects of be2camp are: the face-to-face meetings, and the community we have here online.

With this in mind I thought it would be useful to take some of the ideas we heard on Thursday in Chelmsford and bring them out into the ning site for a bit of

I tried to sign up, but the ticket registration has closed. I'll try to crash the party.

Hi Su,

I'll be coming late and leaving early I'm afraid: but at least I should be able to pop in for a few minutes. I have two conflicting appointments that were made a few weeks back.

Look forward to seeing you.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Su
Thanks for your comment. I'm interested in be2camp for a number of reasons: I sit on the new Library of Birmingham ICT Programme Board, so am interested in the linkages between digital and buildings; we had a very interesting event about how digital can aid the whole building process at the end of last year and because I'm just a bit curious about the whole thing.
I'm looking forward to be2camp, but I know a whole load of nothing about architects and their work, really.

Thanks for the great welcome. It was my first presentation on behalf of EACH and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was also great to meet everyone and make some good contacts. I will be at Santon Down tomorrow, not too early though, so hopefully catch up then.

Hi Su, thanks for the welcome. Really looking forward to Be2CampEast and hearing you and Lee speak, too. What topic did you decide on in the end... or is it a secret? :)
