The SMWBe2camp
half-day 'unseminar' took place on Monday 1 February 2010,
in the event facility at Hodge Jones & Allen (180 North
Gower Street, London NW1 2NB). This event was sponsored by
Reorb, the
professional networking website dedicated to commercial real
estate, with support from the Associates
Group.

Social Media Week was inaugurated in February
2009 in New York, and in 2010 is extending to include San
Francisco, London, Berlin, Toronto and São Paulo, Brazil.
The goal is to: “explore the profound impact that social media has
on culture, business communications and society at large …
and to create a global platform for conversation,
connectivity and learning”. It therefore seemed logical to hold
a Be2camp event as part of SMW
London.
- By the time, the event started, 58 people were still registered
to attend - meaning the event was successfully over-subscribed
(only 50 places were available)
- The afternoon featured four main
speakers and seven
Pecha Kucha presentations
- As this venue didn't - yet - have wifi, we asked attendees to
bring their mobile phones, 3G dongles, Mifi, etc, and some updates
were Tweeted out, etc (hashtags #smwldn and/or #smwbe2camp)
- Read impressions of the event from Lee Smallwood (and here).
